PRINT DEFINITIONS & LINGO

What does full bleed print mean?
Full bleed printing is a feature that allows you to print on 100% of the surface. There is zero additional charge for this service with BlockbusterPrint©. Other online or local printers might limit or not allow you to print high resolution images on your business cards. They might even charge 30-50% more for a full bleed job or they may be incapable of doing it all together. Not at BlockbusterPrint.com. We've got you covered free of charge! We believe quality should not be compromised. It should be a standard without additional charges. (Here is a visual example of Full Bleed Printing)

What does full color print mean?
Full color print means there is no limit to the number of colors there are in your design. If you've noticed, most business cards have plain black text or maybe a 2nd color. This is because printers are still using out dated printing machines. At BlockbusterPrint© there is never a limit on colors, thus allowing you the freedom to create the most colorful high quality business cards with this free service. __ (Here is a visual example of Full Color Printing)

What is UV Gloss Coating?

This free service comes standard on all business cards at BlockbusterPrint©. Business Cards with UV Gloss Coating have a thicker feel which helps them grow to a beautiful 15pt. to 16pt. card stock. Grab everyone's attention with this free feature. ______________________________ (Here is a visual example of UV Gloss Printing)

What does 300dpi mean?
The term 300dpi stands for, dots per inch. A 300dpi file is what is mandatory for a files resolution when submitting for print. A computer screen for example has a resolution of 72 dpi. The more dots or pixels per inch the higher the quality of print. There is no need to go higher then 300 dpi when designing or submitting. If a graphic design is created or printed with a resolution of less then 300dpi the final printed product will be distorted. For help on how to get your files to 300dpi just view our file help section. (Here is a visual example of 300 dpi file submission)

What does 14pt., 15pt. & 16pt. Card Stock mean?
This is what is used to describe the thickness of a business card in the printing world. Our 15pt card stock has a thickness of about 50% more than your traditional business cards. It's about half the thickness of a credit card or an exact thickness of a baseball card. Cards with UV Gloss Coating can grow to a beautiful 15pt to 16pt card stock. We use some of the thickest card stock in the industry while others are still using the flimsy 12pt. stock.

What does 4/4, 4/0 and 4/1 mean?
This is what is used to describe color and number of sides to a print job. A 4/4 is full color on the front and back. A 4/0 is just one sided print in full color. Last is the 4/1 which is a full color job on the front with only one color on the back which is usually a black color with probably just text and no photos or graphics. At BlockbusterPrint we allow you to print whatever you want with unlimited colors to your project. We never charge for additional services. We believe quality should not be compromised nor should there be an additional charge for it.
